Meet the Doctors

Dr. Punam Saini OD


Therapeutic Optometrist


Dr. Saini completed her undergrad degree in Biology at Ohio University and her optometry degree at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Saini continued her training with a residency in primary care and disease on The Navajo Nation in Kayenta, AZ. Dr. Saini practiced adjacent to the Navajo Nation in Flagstaff, Arizona for 13 years before moving back to be closer to family.

She is a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.  In her free time, Dr. Saini loves spending time with her husband and two boys,  traveling, hiking, and attending live music. Dr. Saini is passionate about preventing vision loss and is an active member of One Sight as well as VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), providing eye exams to those in need. Dr. Saini has provided eye care in underprivileged areas in Costa Rica and Guyana, South America. She hopes to go on another mission trip soon.

Dr. Lauren Schmitt

 

Dr Schmitt grew up in Northern Kentucky and went to undergrad at NKU where she majored in microbiology and minored in chemistry. She received her optometry doctorate at the University of Alabama School of Optometry. Dr. Schmitt specializes in primary eye care, treatment of dry eyes, glaucoma, eye disease/infections, and specialty contact lenses.

She is kind, honest, and passionate about helping her patients see to their fullest potential. Dr. Schmitt cares about her patients as if they were her own family. She goes above and beyond to find the perfect solution for each patient’s individual needs. In her free time, she loves hiking with her dog, traveling, and trying new foods.
